His story: A one-time staff attorney for the S.C. Administrative Law Judge Division, he moved to Aiken to represent Wyatt Development. He returned to Columbia to work for Turner Padget. His clients include Eau Claire Development Corp., Atlantic Marina Holdings of Charleston and RealtyLink of Greenville.

Outside work: Serves on foundation board for Forest Lake Elementary School. Served on boards for Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of the Midlands. Leadership Columbia and South Carolina graduate
His life changed when: He met his wife when they were students at USC. “I found a partner, a best friend that I would always have.”
He can make a difference because: “I have the opportunity to observe and work in many different cities and states and can bring some of the good perspective from those places.”
The Midlands has going for it: The diversity of people from different parts of the country. “We have Fort Jackson and the state government and the college bringing in people with fresh ideas and perspectives.”
But needs to fix: Bureaucracy in approving development projects. “Some more cooperation and partnership to streamline the (development) process.”
If he were president, he would: “Try to re-establish our presence as power to heal problems in the world. Now it appears our image has suffered.”
