Chicago or bust
So I am loving all the controversy. Have you heard? My relatives are thrilled! The governor of Illinois is in a scandal.If you follow politics that last sentence is not a real controversial or surprising statement to make. Illinois governors have a difficult time following the law. But this time he was wired and still didn’t care. SO now we wait…will the resignation come next? Will he wait until after the holiday season? Oh the questions are endless…As an Illinois native, I see only one solution. Let’s go to Chicago and be a part of the fun! My family and I are packing our boots and heading to Chicago for a week of snow, family and politics galore.As I write this, I realize my big list is ready to be written. Nope not a Santa list that was made a month ago. Not the grocery list that I did yesterday. This is the “Chicago or Bust” list.Yep, we are driving in our car with our two children to Chicago and I haven’t made the list. Wanna help? Well I’ve got an idea. We have a set of clothes we wear here . . . I just need to layer so that’s a second set of clothes to pack. Snow gear . . . got it. Presents are on their way to Grandma’s already (thank heaven for Amazon.com). I’m addressing the Christmas cards in the car.
We are driving overnight 13 hours straight through, so the kids will sleep . . . right? Snacks, paperback books, the dog. I think I’m done . . . all that’s left is some good talk radio and strong coffee for the trip. What am I forgetting?
I would suggest a stop by the library for some books on CD.
