Pickin’ & Piggin at Saluda Shoals Park will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28. The outdoor event features live music performed by local bluegrass band the Carolina Rebels and a barbecue cook-off competition. Tickets are $10 in advance, $5 (children 12 and under), $12 the day of the event, and include admission to Saluda Shoals Park.

The Carolina Rebels will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Barbecue chefs from across the state will prepare pork barbecue to taste between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A children’s area has been designated with a giant slide, bouncy castle, games and craft activities. Concessions will also be available for sale. 

The event is hosted by the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina.
