Movie night made easy
Looking for something fun and unique to do in the evening? Why not host a movie night? It can be a family affair to remember or a great night with friends.
Whether it’s a one-movie night or a double feature, pick a theme for the night – comedies or adventure – even all animated movies for the kids. You can keep it simple or go all out and decorate with movie related items, whatever makes it more fun.
Good food is a must for any movie night. Chili Cornbread Pie is the star of this show by putting the best of chili and cornbread all into one dish you can easily eat while watching.
Set out bowls of toppings so everyone can dress up their chili how they like it. Canned diced chilies or pickled jalapenos add some heat, while avocados, sour cream or cheese mellow things out.
Here are some Movie Night theme ideas to get you ready to roll out the welcome mat for a night of Hollywood fun at home!
- Wild Westerns: Cowboys invented chili, so why not enjoy yours with a western movie? There are plenty of old and new classics to choose from.
- The Classics: Treat yourself to some of the great black and white comedies or classic detective movies of the 30s and 40s. If you’ve never seen any, you’re in for a treat!
- TV Catch-up: Boxed sets of TV shows are a great way to catch up on missed seasons or get hooked on a whole new show.
- Mystery Night: Pop in a great whodunit and get a thrill trying to solve the mystery before the good guys do.
