Just when you thought the last few minutes couldn’t get any worse for South Carolina.
And just when you thought a long pass had gotten the Gamecocks out of a hole.
Oy gavalt, as they like to say in certain parts of the country.
A bad, very high snap by Garrett Anderson, who came in on the previous series for Lemeul Jeanpierre, went way over the head of Stephen Garcia. After initially falling on it at the 5, the ball squirted away and into the end zone. There, Brian Maddox dove on the ball, having no other choice, at least preventing Arkansas from getting the touchdown.
But it was still a safety, and the deficit is now 26-16.
And that was a 32-yard loss on the play. Yikes.
This came one play after Garcia hit Weslye Saunders on an 18-yard first down. Garcia had been sacked on first down, the first sack of the game given up by the offensive line.
It was actually great to see Saunders involved in the offense again, that being his second long catch in as many drives. But it was all negated by a bad snap which, along with Garcia’s interception to end the previous drive, may end up being the key plays in this game.
Both of those plays, ladies and gentlemen, were on first down. No pressure situation, just bad mistakes.

See all Gamecocks next year. Hopefully the O-Line and D-line will improve big time.

When will we learn that the word tackle does not mean that you waive your arm as the runner goes by and hope he falls down?

Spurrier is out coached again. He even said that at the half. See you next year Spurrier. Dont feel bad you will get another 2.5 mil to go 50-50.

Why do you expect the team to finish games and not give up until it’s over when it seems its fans just quit <with more than 2 games left before the season ends ?

Nothing to do with Spurrier out coached, leave this forum — Spurrier is the best thing for this program. Hasn’t had a losing season since he has been here. I guess your too young to remember the days before Spurrier and Lou.

Ellis Johnson is the worst defensive coordinator ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spurrier the game has past you by; its time to let it go!!!!!! we might as well just call Florida and tell them that we don’t need to play cause we already know the outcome! Thanks for nothing Spurrier!!!!!

Fire, I think we both can agree that we would like to see this program turn the page. It feels we take one step foward but two steps back.

Only thing spurrier has done at SC has made the athletic dept money. I guess .500 season is okay at vanderbilt which seems that they are 2-3 against the Big Visor. It is a let down to everybody that we have the most unmotivated and uninspired football team in the country. i have held season tickets for 17yrs probaly only missed maybe 10 home games in that period, and im not giving another dime until the hire a coach that doesnt get a discount on coffe at Hardees on sunday. We need a Bill Cohwer or John Grudden fire on our sidline. Lets pay for that instead of for .500 seasons.

Full scholarship here, since ‘80, and 8 season tickets.
Decided to go with “YES” on trial basis. I’m done. Will downgrade to “half” and
4 season tickets.

Spurrier is giving Spurrier Jr Off coordinator ojt but it’s not working. Jr. is not OC material and that caused delays in Arkansas game. Garcia will never be in a sync if coaches don’t get plays in game. Spurrier says after game “we’re not a very good team right now.” Hey the coach could be the problem.
