Sitting in the press box at Razorbacks Stadium, where the sun is blaring down. But the weather is beautiful, perhaps as ideal as I’ve seen for a football game in my three years on the football beat.
This stadium is quite different from Neyland Stadium, where we were last week. It’s a horseshoe design, seats a few thousand less and has metal bleachers. But it’s nice in its own way.
(And isn’t everything nice in its own way? Except maybe Terrell Owens?)
Anyway, we’re anticipating an interesting game here. In talking to a few Arkansas writers, they were all struck by Steve Spurrier’s defensiveness this week, trying to fend off the talk of the swoon. I guess we’ll hear more of it after the game if the Gamecocks can’t overcome Ryan Mallett and company.
