Clemson just had one of its best drives of the game, aided by a helmet-to-helmet penalty on Cliff Matthews on a big hit on Clemson QB Kyle Parker. No one in the press box seemed to dispute the call.
Parker also hit TE Michael Palmer for a big gain, but USC held the Tigers to a field goal, a 45-yarder by Richard Jackson.
Will be interesting to see if USC tries to (and can) milk some clock leading 24-10 with 11-plus minutes in the game.

Miles is having a great day running the ball. We just can’t play too conservative. Still need to mix some pass plays……hope Miles is going to be ok after that hit.

“milk,” are you kidding me? What is it with the Gamecock mentality, including the passive press corp? Not only do we need to develop a knock-out swagger on the team, but we need to find some saavy reporters to cover the game in SC.

USC has taken nearly SIX MINUTES off the clock. What’s wrong with that?

Totally agree, SRW. With Spiller, they can score with big plays in a short amount of time. We need to go for the juggler!

OTOH, if Garcia had thrown an interception on the Clemson 20, we would be complaining about how they should have run the ball to set up the field goal……Now we are up by THREE scores with about 7 mins left. We have to continue to play good defense and protect the ball on offense!

SWEET!!It’s Good!! 37yd field goal puts Carolina up 27-10…3 score ball game…Tigers going down BABY!! GO GameCocks!!!
SRW 4:04 pm on November 28, 2009 Permalink
6 minutes off the clock this time…but history has it that 3 out of every 4 times Carolina rarely finds itself in this situation, they find a way to go 3-and-out most of the time or self destruct…it’s in our DNA. Instead of hoping for the best, take the game to the opponent!

ESPN is so biased. They just showed serveral video clips of rivalry games in this series and all they showed were the Clemson wins and “The Brawl.”………what about the big comeback win in 1984? Or the Taneyhill led win at Clemson? Or the kick at the end of the game that decided Spurrier’s win over Clemson? Or the 56-14 thrashing of Clemson with Tommy Suggs-led Gamecocks?
