Clarification on Spurrier O-line comments

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier did not describe the Gamecocks’ overall offensive line performance in USC’s 34-0 season-opening win against N.C. State as “pitiful.”
When Spurrier used the words, “pitiful” and “embarrassing” in his Friday teleconference with reporters, he was referring specifically to the Gamecocks’ pass protection and false start penalties against the Wolfpack.
