Hampton Street crosswalk

hampton street map.bmpYesterday, City Council members approved some changes at the intersection of Hampton and Pine streets, where Allen University has a new dorm. Neighborhood leaders have been complaining about students hanging out in the street and disregarding traffic. One neighborhood leader at the meeting yesterday said

“We have some dingbat students that walk anywhere.”

The improvements will cost $14,676, and include a raised crosswalk that will also serve as a speed bump, a four-way stop sign at the intersection of Hampton and Pine streets and flashing yellow caution lights.
