From The State’s Jeff Wilkinson:

The Columbia planning commission on Monday passed a set of community protection ordinances for the Rosewood neighborhood by a 6-3 vote.

The temporary measures would make it more difficult for developers to tear down old homes or to radically subdivide lots. It would also make it more difficult for developers to build “McMansions” — large homes that are out of proportion with their lots or the other houses around them.

City Council will take up the protection ordinance in July 15. The temporary measures would be in effect for two years.
