USC officials courting Hollywood-Rose Hill neighborhood
USC athletic officials will meet with the Hollywood-Rose Hill neighborhood association tonight, the first formal contact between the two groups about the university’s planned $49.9 million facilities project on Heyward and South Marion streets.

Homeless shelter open tonight; see map for pickup locations
With temperatures expected to dip below freezing tonight, Columbia officials will open their winter homeless shelter tonight from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. tomorrow morning.
